Tata motors gave India its first indigenous manufactured car- Tata Indica which has run successfully for two decades. It was finally decided to expand the Indica product line by offering a newer and wider hatchback in the form of Tata Indica Vista. However, it was discontinued recently after a successful run to replace it with a better Tata car– Tata Bolt. Similarly, the Tata Zest is developed on the extended Tata Indica Vista platform. It is the Sedan variant of the Tata Bolt which is a refreshed Tata Indica Vista with bolder looks and a wider stance.
Tata Zest Price
The Tata Zest is offered in two fuel options of Petrol and Diesel. The diesel engine is a Fiat-sourced 1248cc 1.3-liter turbocharged Revotorq engine while the petrol engine is 1193cc 1.2 liter is a turbocharged Revotron engine. The petrol engine gives an ARAI approved mileage of 17.57 km/l while the diesel engine juices up to 22.49 km/l with option between manual and automatic transmission options.

The Tata Zest is offered in (wait for it!) 11 variants with optional variant of 75 PS in XE, XM and XMS diesel variants delivering an extra strength in the hands of the driver. Otherwise the car delivers an average power of 90 BHP and a torque of 200 NM at 1750-2000 RPM. The thing which makes the Bolt and Zest lineup innovative is the small diesel engine with automatic transmission system.

The Tata Zest price ranges from Rs 6.42 lacs for the base trim of XE petrol range ranging to the maximum of Rs. 10.58 lacs for the top variant of XTA Diesel which are ex-showroom price of New Delhi.

Tata Zest comes with dual front airbags along with ABS equipped with EBD and a corner stability control for safety and Tata motors claim that further airbags can also be installed at a reasonable rate for a possible requirement thereby scoring a perfect 10 for safety.
Earlier in Tata Indica Vista and Tata Nano, the instrument cluster was placed in center above the air-conditioner panel along with the stereo system. The Tata Zest sports a first in class steering mounted controls for audio and call features. The thing which makes the Tata Zest stands apart in the segment which sport also a first in class Harman-designed stereo system which is a full-fledged touch screen infotainment giving a chic feel to the passengers as well as the driver.
The Tata Zest sports a set of cup holders and bottle holders with best-in segment parking sensors, fog lamps and different driving modes for petrol variant giving the driver to ride the vehicle at his own discretion. It is also provided with charging sockets of 12V for never letting your device to run out of battery. Tata cars have the reputation of having comfortable rear seats to never let the rear passengers feel uncomfortable. Along with that an enormous boot space of 390 liters which is expected to eat up anything which is fed to it.
